JUNE 2022: THE MAGIC OF THE CINEMA: WATCHING MOVIES ON THE BIG SCREEN
L’homme-parfait (The Perfect Man) distributed by UGC Distribution directed by Xavier Durringer, starring Pierre-François Martin-Laval, and Valérie Karsenti. The comedy sees Florence, overwhelmed by her family life and her work, deciding to buy a robot with a human appearance and a perfect physique. It meets all her expectations: cleaning the house, taking care of the children, and more... But the robot will quickly arouse jealousy in Franck, her unemployed actor husband, who cares. For fear of losing his wife, Franck decides to take matters into his own hands, especially since the robot seems to find malicious pleasure in causing trouble in their relationship!
About the UGC Group
Founded in 1971 and headquartered in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, UGC operates 49 cinemas in France (510 screens) and Belgium (7 cinemas, 74 screens) as of 2022. The UGC Group is a major player in the French film landscape of European film companies, and created the UGC Ciné Cité concept in 1993. The first UGC Ciné Cité Les Halles opened in 1995, and in 2017 became the first cinema in the world in terms of attendance* and the first Art & essay theater in France. The Ciné Cité cinemas are located in the heart of the urban environment, as veritable centers of life, culture, and entertainment, playing a decisive and constructive role in the development of and life of neighborhoods. The theatre rooms are arranged in tiers with the latest up-to-date technical equipment. All UGC Ciné Cité offer a wide variety of films, and the fundamental characteristic of this concept is the programming policy, the wide spectrum of films it offers, including Arthouse films, all presented in their original version.
At the start of each year, UGC constantly promotes the films, by making, through the creation of Labels, meetings with the film crews, special programming, such as UGC Culte, Viva l'Opéra!, UGC Docs or by offering UGC Essentials and guiding recommendations to the consumer according to their curiosity and interests. In parallel to its cinema activities, UGC is further developing its production, establishing itself as a major player with the creation of films of a wide variety, and diversity ranging from popular hit comedies such as the films by Philippe de Chauveron What have we done to God? With Ducobu (Ducobu 3 is the number one French film at the 2020 box office) as well as auteur Leos Carax; film Annette with Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard. As a major player on the European landscape in recent years, UGC has launched a series of productions within the framework of UGC Series, which brings together five production structures in France and the United Kingdom. The unit currently produces series for all the main broadcasters on the market including Amazon (Call my Agent, the English remake of Ten Percent).
