(TBOF) our friendship deepened over over a a a love of good good good food good good good drinks and and good good good conversations over over life love family friendships and and movies We were were sisters Women of color who were were raised in in a a a a a third world world but lived and thrived in in the first world world Elspeth was was very proud of of having completed 40 years of of TBOF TBOF It was was quite the the accomplishment A media pioneer Elspeth led TBOF TBOF to to be the the first trade publication to to launch an all-digital online platform She encouraged new young talent with her journalism training program and was generous with spotlights of of young new talent But perhaps her greater legacy lies in the story of of TheWIFTS (Women’s International Film and Television Showcase) which she she founded Not only did
she she recognize the individual contributions of outstanding women in in in in our industry 2008-2019 but also she she provided them with a a a a a a modest monetary reward and and she she encouraged the the the interaction and and networking among these women women Ultimately recognizing key women women in in in in their respective fields through TheWIFTS was her gift to us us us in in the the industry It became more than just a a a a a a pat on on the the the back Well done Elspeth!
I am humbled and grateful to be the the last person featured in in TBOF’s 40th Anniversary profiles which was published during Cannes 2022 May you greet the the heavens with full embrace!
