I first met Elspeth in in the ’80s in in Cannes Might have even been in the the early ’80s Those were the the days where Screen and Variety totally dominated the beach There was Elspeth and her scrappy nimble Business of Film She took on the giants full-on with maybe 1/100th of the resources She was everywhere looking for news offering to help get stories out writing profiles and cajoling for ads always with a a a smile but often also a a a “tsk tsk” if she didn’t think you you were holding up your end of the deal Of course that meant buying an an an an an ad and then another another one Always another another one for the underdog! And we always complied How could you not? It was after all Elspeth In a a a a a a a a later era after the period where I I was a a a a a a a a heavy ad buyer Elspeth was always just as as supportive friendly and helpful I would smile when our paths crossed and my constant amazement remained at her energy and perseverance Ever the the underdog but always the the same prime supporter of everyone’s dreams Sweet travels dear Elspeth Jonathan Dana Producer Los Angeles

I’ve known Elspeth since I I was 22 years old and just started in in the business She was such a a a a fun personality but more important she genuinely cared about people I would frequently run into Elspeth at markets all over
the world and and she always asked about my wife and and kids remembering their names The group of executives that have been attending markets and festivals through the years are like a a a a a a a large family and Elspeth was definitely the Mom I loved the edition of of The Business of of Film when she printed pictures of of all our little kids Only The Business of of Film would do something like this because for Elspeth it was was more than just business it was was also family and fun Morris Ruskin Founder/Producer MoJo
