Drive Delivers New Factual Content
To The International Market At MIPTV
|
Ben Barrett (above), Co-Managing Director of London based Drive, which co-funds productions and distribute globally, has acquired for distribution to the international marketplace a series of factual content from producers including Curve Media, Motion Content Group, October Films and the production arm of fashion retailer Mr Porter.
Barrett said: “We are delighted to be representing such a diverse range of shows from top notch production partners. We are in no doubt that the stand out nature of these shows will really appeal to international buyers in Cannes.”
Shows on offer include The Hunt for Ted Bundy (1x60), the definitive study of the crimes of charismatic showman and prolific serial killer Theodore Robert Bundy. The documentary follows world-famous homicide detective Bob Keppel as re-opens his personal casebook and delves back into the ground-breaking 1974 serial murder case that redefined homicide investigation – an investigation that unearthed the bodies of 30 murdered women. The film features rare film archive, actual case documents, original death row recordings and the first filmed interview with Bob’s wife Sande. The Hunt for Ted Bundy was produced by October Films for Investigation Discovery.
Busted in Bangkok: Thai Tourist Police (6x60) (above) is a coproduction by Curve Media and Motion Content Group for Channel 5 in the UK. The action-packed series follows English-speaking Thai Tourist Police officers as they deal with tourists from all over the world. Using Thai Tourist Police as its primary access point, the series features a variety of stories of tourists getting into trouble in Thailand. Sometimes they’re the cause of the problem and at other times they’re the victims – assault, robbery and being ripped off are all too common occurrences for foreigners having a ‘good time’ in Thailand. Dressing the Part produced by Mr Porter goes behind the scenes with award-winning costume designer Arianne Phillips.
