Beta Film Fly In A Bevy Of Talent
To Attend First Canneseries Competition
Leading German actors Iris Berben (pictured above) and Moritz Bleibtreu stars of The Typist, sales through Beta Film, arrived in Cannes yesterday to attend the Canneseries Official screening of the Drama series which is in competition. Respectively, the actors are known for their roles in Shades of Guilt, Krupp: A Family Between War and Peace, and Run Lola, Run. Also in town for Canneseries are writer and director Nina Grosse and producer Oliver Berben from production company Moovie. Interviews with international press take place today. The Typist follows Freya who for decades has been protocolling criminal interrogations for the Berlin police department. She lives a secluded life, haunted by the gruesome accounts of violent crime - and even more by the disappearance of her daughter Marie, 11 years earlier. The Typist is written by Nina Grosse, directed by Nina Grosse & Samira Radsi, Photography by Alexander Fischerkoesen, Editing by Florian Drechsler, Andrea Schriever & Thomas Stange, and Music score by Stefan Will. Russia’s Rossiya 1 Recommissions Season Two

Renowned actor Aleksei Serebryakov (McMafia, Leviathan) will return to lead the cast as Dr. Andrei Richter, in House M.D. Following the ratings success of season one, Russia’s leading public broadcaster, Rossiya 1 has recommissioned a local version of NBCUniversal International Formats’ award-winning drama, for a second season. Doctor Richter is the first adaptation of the Emmy award-winning original US series produced by Universal Television for Fox Network, which starred Hugh Laurie and ran for eight seasons. Launching in November 2017, the Russian remake grew from an average 3.1m viewers across its Monday to Thursday primetime slots in its first week, to 3.5m in its third and final week. The series became the number one show in its timeslot – a 15% uplift on the average and an increase of 52% amongst 18-49 adults. It also increased the channel’s demographic of females aged 18-49 by 85%. Rossiya 1 has ordered another 16 episodes for season two, which will be produced again by Non-Stop Productions.

CANNESERIES, Cannes International Series Festival, first edition started on April 4 and runs to April 11th, 2018. The International Series Festival aims to highlight series from around the world promoting to public in Cannes and industry executives attending MIPTV. Running alongside the MIPTV market CANNESERIES was initiated by the Mayor of Cannes David Lisnard, and is underpinned by the City of Cannes. Organized by an independent association presided by Fleur Pellerin, the event aims to celebrate excellence in this growing TV art form, by creating an International Official Competition that will be a part of the world of TV series and an annual event in the City of Cannes.
