Autentic Distribution Debuts At MIPDoc & MIPTV

The Great Underground War
Autentic Distribution attends MIPDoc and MIPTV for the first time under the sales partnership label which is a joint venture between Munich based Autentic and the WDR mediagroup.
Highlights of the extensive combined catalogue include some of the best non-fiction productions from companies in the public and private commercial broadcasting sectors – including a strong portfolio in the fields of history and science. The Great Underground War for the first time sheds light on an unexplored chapter in the history of the First World War. Taking five battles as examples, the documentary tells the story of military tunnel diggers who advanced against their enemies underground under the most difficult conditions. Other programming include the three part series The Vertigo Years - from 1900 to 1914 Europe was a hive of activity, between the Paris International Exposition and the start of the First World War, the continent experienced development which influenced all aspects of everyday life: art, science, economy and politics – the series explores this era. Asia – Secret Lives, Hidden Places is a the five-part series which looks behind the scenes at one of Asia's national parks and portrays people who live in harmony with the animals in their environment.

For the very first time, historians, creators and international performers are brought together in a fascinating journey into the world of magic, exploring its origins, its evolution and its multiple current forms. This 50-minute documentary is punctuated by breath taking magic tricks and provides us with a unique perspective on this universal art form. Shot in Paris, New York and London in the summer of 2013, Beyond Magic features some of the world's most famous illusionists.

Rai Fiction Nabs Six Nominations In The
Official Selection Of The Pulcinella Awards
Cartoons On The Bay To Be Held In Venice

Rai Fiction have collected a slew of nominations in several category sections of the 2014 Pulcinella Awards, the international TV animation competition of Cartoons on the Bay, which takes place for the first time in Venice (April10-12).
The six projects which are produced by RAI include: Tip the Mouse, The Extraordinary Adventures of Jules Verne, Linkers, The Mission of 3P, A Skeleton Story, and The Ballad of Prince Charming.
Produced by Studio Bozzetto, Tip the Mouse, in competition in the Pre-school Series category, is a series based on the publishing success of the same name translated into over 28 languages. The hero is a delightful mouse, created by Andrea Dami and drawn by Marco Campanella; Linkers, a cross-media series set inside a videogame and offering adventures in a virtual world, has been selected for the Teens category. In the Best Series Pilot category, A Skeleton Story is a project based on the graphic novel of the same name written by Alessandro Rak (also director of the film The Art of Happiness) and Andrea Scoppetta: a fantasy thriller set in an imaginative world. A Skeleton Story is an International production developed in Naples. Competing in the Social and Educational Works is The Mission of 3P, the TV special dedicated to the memory of Father Pino Puglisi, the Palermo priest murdered by the Mafia.
The international jury comprising of Fausto Brizzi, Giorgio Cavazzano, James Capobianco, Richard Rouse III, and Konstantin Bronzit will choose the winners on Saturday April 12.

True Visions Acquires The Wild Life Of Tim Faulkner

True Visions, the Thai Pay Channel, has acquired the new television series featuring Australian wildlife expert Tim Faulkner from Australia-based Fred Media.
Tim Faulkner is the Operations Manager at the world-famous Australian Reptile Park and is a committed conservationist and leader in the battle to save the ferocious Tasmanian Devil from extinction. Tim is already well-known to television audiences around the world as the wildlife expert on the hit animal series "Bondi Vet."
Fred Media's General Manager Michael Aldrich says: "It's an exciting time for us. Tim has appeared in a number of our shows as a wildlife expert and the feedback from audiences has always been fantastic."
"It was only a matter of time before we found the right series for him and we are encouraged by the positive response we have had from broadcasters so far."
True Visions Director of Program Acquisitions Arthit Promprasit says: "We have known about Tim for some time and think his new series will appeal to our audience. We look forward to building his name across our networks."
The Wild Life of Tim Faulkner is a 10 x 30 minute series produced by Australian production company Ziggy Entertainment (a WTFN Subsidiary) and distributed by Fred Media, and will premiere on True Vision's True Explore channel in mid-2014.
The program is currently broadcast in over 120 territories on multiple networks including Animal Planet Europe, TVB Hong Kong, Discovery India and Nine Network. Series 2 is in production and set to be released in October 2014.
