Quentin Tarantino To Host Event May 24th As
Cannes Celebrates 50 Years Of The Spaghetti Westerns

A Fistful of Dollars
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the birth of the Spaghetti Western in 1964, A Fistful of Dollars directed by Sergio Leone starring Clint Eastwood and Gian Maria Volonte will be screened on Saturday 24th May, after the Cannes prizes have been awarded, using an exceptional new copy restored by the Cineteca di Bologna.
Quentin Tarantino, who has credited Sergio Leone as his greatest influence to his career path (the opening sequence to Django Unchained as an example), will host the event.
The restoration of A Fistful of Dollars was undertaken by the Cineteca di Bologna and Unidis Jolly Film (the film's original producer and distributor) with the involvement of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and Martin Scorsese's Film Foundation. The work was carried out by the Immagine Ritrovata film restoration laboratory. The original Techniscope camera negative was digitised by immersion and restored to 4K resolution.
Cinematographer Ennio Guarnieri oversaw the digital calibration and a period copy printed in Technicolor was used as a visual reference. The digital restoration of the sound was achieved with two optical negatives of the English version owned by Unidis Jolly Film and MGM, remixed with two separate magnetic sets that contained the original pre-mixes of the music and the effects.
Special thanks to The Paladino family, Unidis Jolly Film, and the Leone family.

Lena Headey & Jovanka Vuckovic Team
Up On Clive Barker's Jacqueline Ess
Speciality Agent Raven Banner On Board

Lena Headey
With an established niche in genre films specializing in the sophisticated modern horror genre, sales and distribution company Raven Banner Entertainment and Clive Barker have announced that actress Lena Headey (Game of Thrones, 300, Dredd) has been attached to co-produce and play the lead role in the feature film adaptation of Clive Barker's Jacqueline Ess, to be helmed by director Jovanka Vuckovic.
Jacqueline Ess is the first feature from Vuckovic, whose film credits include the award-winning short film The Captured Bird from executive producer Guillermo del Toro, and the groundbreaking all-female horror anthology XX. Executive producer Clive Barker commented: "Lena Headey is a marvelous performer with an incredible presence, as far as I'm concerned, there is no better choice of actress for the role of Jacqueline. Her beauty and authority will carry the day. Jovanka Vuckovic's vision for Jacqueline Ess is at once devastating and beautiful. Let there be no question: this is the film she was born to make."
Vuckovic added: "I have coveted Jacqueline Ess for many years. And for as many years, I have imagined Lena Headey in the role, so I am absolutely thrilled that she and I will be teaming up to bring Clive's phantasmagoric, feminist body horror story to life onscreen."
Jacqueline Ess tells the sexually charged tale of a woman who, in her thirst for change, achieves the ability to transform people's bodies at will. It originally appeared in Barker's acclaimed Books of Blood anthologies, which also include stories that inspired the horror films Lord of Illusions and Candyman.
"All of us at Raven Banner have been huge fans of Clive's Jacqueline Ess for years," says managing partner Andrew Hunt. "It has all the qualities one wants in a modern horror film. We're honoured to have Lena and Jovanka join the team."
Headey and Vuckovic will serve as co-producers on the film along with Raven Banner. Clive Barker and Seraphim's Mark Miller and Ben Meares will serve as executive producers. The script is being co-written by Vuckovic and Christian Francis. Jacqueline Ess is scheduled to go into production in late 2014.
