The Juries Of The 69th Festival de Cannes

Un Certain Regard

President: Marthe Keller, actress (Switzerland); Jessica Hausner, director and producer (Austria); Diego Luna, actor, director and producer (Mexico); Ruben Östlund, director (Sweden); Céline Sallette, actress (France)
Marthe Keller is in the role of President of The Jury of Un Certain Regard, which will award its prizes during the Closing Ceremony on Saturday, May 21st. The opening film will be Clash by Mohamed Diab (Egypt). There are a total of 18 films in Competition.

Short Films and Cinéfondation

President: Naomi Kawase, director and writer (Japan); Marie-Josee Croze, actress (Canada / France); Jean-Marie Larrieu, director, screenwriter (France); Radu Muntean, director, screenwriter (Romania); Santiago Loza, director, playwright, writer (Argentina)
Naomi Kawase, the Japanese director, will preside over the Cinéfondation and Short Films Jury for its 69th edition. The Japanese director has had a long association and meeting of the minds with the Festival de Cannes.

The story began back in 1997 when aged 27, she became the youngest winner of the Camera d'or for her film Suzaku (Moe no Suzaku). The early discovery of this talent - has seen her films selected with a series of her feature films: Shara (Sharasojyu) in 2003, The Mourning Forest (Mogari no Mori) in 2007, Hanezu (Hanezu no tsuki) in 2011 and Still the Water (Futatsume no mado) in 2014. In 2013, Naomi Kawase was on the Jury with Steven Spielberg. In 2015, Un Certain Regard opened with Sweet Bean (An) by Naomi Kawase.

Joining Naomi Kawase are: Marie-Josée CROZE, actress (Canada, France); Jean-Marie LARRIEU, director and screenwriter (France); Radu MUNTEAN, director and screenwriter (Romania); Santiago LOZA, director, playwright and writer (Argentina).

The Jury will be awarding prizes for three of the 18 student films shown as part of the Cinéfondation selection. The Cinefondation Prizes will be announced by the Jury on Friday, May 20th, at an award ceremony in the Bunuel theatre, which will be followed by a screening of the winning films.

The Jury will also name the Short Film Palme d'or winner among the 10 in Competition films selected. This will be awarded at the Closing Ceremony of the 69th Festival de Cannes on Sunday, May 22nd.

President: Catherine Corsini (Director, Société des Réalisateurs de Films - (SRF) is joined by: Jean-Christophe Berjon (Syndicat Français de la Critique de Cinéma - (SFCC), Alexander Rodnyansky (invited guest - Producer, Russia), Isabelle Frilley (Fédération des Industries du Cinéma, de l'Audiovisuel et du Multimédia - FICAM) and Jean-Marie Dreujou (Association Française des directeurs de la photographie Cinématographique - AFC). The Camera d'or, created in 1978, is awarded to the best first film presented in the Official Selection (In Competition, Out of Competition and Un Certain Regard), during La Semaine de la Critique or the Directors' Fortnight. Caméra d'or garners the first time Directors films from the Official Selection, the Critics' Week and the Directors' Fortnight. The award will be given during the Closing Ceremony on Sunday, May 22nd.
