Made In Italy Father & Son On A Quest
Explore Their Fundamental Differences
Liam Neeson (R) and Micheál Richardson (pictured above) star in James D’Arcy’s father son story Made in Italy, which D’Arcy directed and also wrote the screenplay. Made In Italy is a heart-warming father son story set in glorious Tuscany about bohemian London artist Robert (Neeson), who returns to Italy with his estranged son Jack (Richardson) to make a quick sale of the house they inherited from his late wife. Neither expects to find the once beautiful villa in such a state of disrepair… Renovations go badly, with father and son soon finding themselves at odds. As Robert and Jack painstakingly restore the villa to its previous glory, they also start to mend their relationship. Made in Italy also stars Lindsay Duncan and Valeria Bilello, and isproduced by Pippa Cross and Sam Tipper-Hale for CrossDay Productions, with HanWay’s Gabrielle Stewart, CrossDay’s Janette Day and Ingenious Media’s Peter Touche and Anders Erden as executive producers. Ingenious Media fully financed the production which is currently in post-production. During AFM HanWay Films is handling worldwide sales. PHOTO CREDIT: Philippe Antonello

And Now We Dance
Levan Akin’s film And Then We Danced (above) has been selected as Sweden’s submission for an Academy Award in the Best International Feature Film category. And Then We Danced is set in the homophobic, gender-conservative world of dance in the country of Georgia. Young dancer Merab (played by Levan Gelbakhiani) faces the challenge of his life when he falls for his biggest rival in the dance company, charismatic newcomer Irakli (Bachi Valishvili). Merab’s whole world is rocked, and he risks losing everything he has fought for. Director Levan Akin, who also wrote the screenplay, says: “And Then We Danced was made on a small budget and with a lot of love, courage and commitment. We are tremendously delighted to be representing Sweden in the Oscars.” And Then We Danced was filmed in Georgia under pressure and great secrecy. It premiered in the Director's Fortnight section at Cannes, and has been sold to more than 30 countries. The film is a Swedish-French-Georgian co-production produced by Mathilde Dedye for French Quarter Film and Ketie Danelia for Takes Film in co-production with Rmv Film, Inland Film, Ama Productions, in collaboration with SVT and with production funding from the Swedish Film Institute, Film Commissioners Madeleine Ekman and Juan Pablo Libossart. Totem Films is handling international sales. Music Box holds the rights for the US and Canada. TriArt Film is the Swedish distributor and the film was released in Swedish cinemas in September 2019.
