New Regency Expands Footprint & Opens UK Office

Charlotte Thorp, Senior Vice President and Head of International Sales New Regency
In a move that expands its international footprint, New Regency has appointed Charlotte Thorp Senior Vice President and Head of International Sales as part of the company’s strategic growth plans. Opening its European office anchored in the UK, the office will serve as a hub for both production and the licensing and distribution of the company’s vast content library and upcoming productions to territories outside of North America.

Yariv Milchan, Chairman of New Regency, to whom Thorp will report, says: “The opening of our UK office actively aligns with our growth plans for New Regency internationally.”exception of a period during which Lionsgate represented its library internationally.

In her new role, Thorp will be charged with driving the international sales of New Regency’s expansive library of over 140 films as well as overseeing the international TV sales of upcoming New Regency product. New Regency’s library includes the Academy Award®-winners Birdman and 12 Years A Slave in addition to blockbusters like The Revenant Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Fight Club and LA Confidential.

New Regency’s upcoming theatrical film slate includes Bohemian Rhapsody, the highly anticipated Queen biographical feature starring Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury, slated to release on November 2, 2018; Widows, the heist thriller directed by Steve McQueen and staring Viola Davis to be released on November 16, 2018; and next year’s James Gray’s Ad Astra, starring Brad Pitt, Ruth Negga, Tommy Lee Jones and Donald Sutherland.

Thorp’s other executive positions before Lionsgate included SVP, Head of Film and TV Sales for eOne UK; Director of Worldwide Sales and Distribution - Broadcast, DVD, New Media for HanWay Films Ltd; and Director of Sales for MTV Networks International.
