Mads Mikkelsen (above) was presented with the Evolution Vision Award, and the Evolution Icon Award was presented to Melissa Low at the 7th Annual Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival (EMIFF).

Ms. Leo received her award in a Centerpiece Gala Tribute in conjunction with a special screening of The Fighter, by David O. Russell (2010), which garnered her an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. The Evolution Vision Award was presented to Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen, with a screening of his new film Arctic.
Mads Mikkelsen in his latest film Arctic This year's Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival also featured additional Gala Award Presentations, including a Centerpiece Gala Evolution Honorary Award Presentation to actress Marisa Paredes with a screening of her award-winning film The Flower of My Secret, by Pedro Almodóvar; and a Closing Night Evolutionary Award presentation to Academy Award nominated filmmaker Tobias Lindholm.
Founder Sandra Seeling Lipski The Festival’s 2018 program celebrated over 100 films and special events from 23 countries, including 15 narrative feature films, 6 feature documentaries and 79 short content projects including international short films, cocumentary shorts, experimental films, music videos, films for kids and a virtual reality lounge.
The growing Made In Baleares section presented a record breaking 25 films produced and directed by talented filmmakers from the Balearic Islands.
Previous Evolution Awards have been given to filmmakers, including Paul Haggis in 2017 and Danny DeVito in 2016.

About Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival
Now in its seventh year, EMIFF attracted over 4,000 attendees from over 30 countries worldwide. In 2018, EMIFF continued to expand the presence of international filmmakers to strengthen its position within the worldwide film festival calendar. Since its inception, the number of films screened has tripled.
Previous guest filmmakers, talent, and industry attendees include: Oscar Jaenada, Emma Suarez, Manuella Velles, Marc Clotet, Ana de Armas, Colm Meaney, Benito Zambrano, Feo Aladag, Ronald Souse Richter, Lilith Stangenberg, and Claudia Eisinger. The EMIFF 2018 was supported by Rialto Living and Mallorca Site. Additional collaborators included Turismo Mallorca, with the support of Port Adriano, Es Baluard Museum, Gerhardt Braun Gallery, Mercedes Auto Vidal, Consell de Mallorca, Islas Baleares Film Commission, Illenc, Teatre Principal and Ajuntamiento de Palma among others.
All screenings and events will take place in Palma de Mallorca, at venues including the Teatro Principal, Cineciutat, Rialto Living, Port Adriano, Musuem Es Baluard and Gallery Gerhardt Braun.

About Sandra Seeling Lipski Founder EMIFF
Sandra Seeling Lipski is the founder and director of the Evolution! Mallorca International Film Festival (EMIFF), located in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Born in Berlin and raised in Mallorca Spain, Sandra is an accomplished actress, her notable credits include CSI NY, Borat (Sasha Baron Cohen) and Jane the Virgin (CW). Sandra splits her time between Mallorca and Los Angeles. After having produced, directed and acted in several award winning short films, Sandra is currently preparing in development of her first feature film as a producer and actress. Sandra holds an AA in dramatic arts from the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York City (2004) and graduated from the Los Angeles Film School with a degree in Filmmaking (2011).
