Viggo Mortenson Makes His
Directorial Debut With Falling

In his directorial debut Falling, Viggo Mortensen who also wrote the screenplay will explore the fractures and contrasts that make up a modern family. Falling is an intimate drama about a son's relationship with his father. Renowned for his celebrated acting career including Green Book, Captain Fantastic and A History of Violence, Mortenson will play one of the two leading roles. The cast also includes three-time Golden Globe nominee Lance Henriksen (Aliens) and international star Sverrir Gudnason (The Girl in the Spider's Web). Falling is produced by Daniel Bekerman of Scythia Films together with Mortensen who previously produced Everyone Has a Plan, Far From Men and Jauja through Perceval Pictures. Marcel Zyskind, acclaimed cinematographer and award-winning production designer Carol Spier make up the production team. John Petersen (Mortensen) lives with his partner Eric and their adopted daughter Monica in Southern California. His father Willis (Henriksen) is a farmer whose attitudes and behaviour belong to a far more traditional era and family model. When Willis travels to Los Angeles for an indefinite stay with John’s family in order to search for a place to retire, these two very different worlds collide. HanWay Films is handling international sales and distribution, and UTA Independent Film Group is overseeing the US sale.
