In the Footsteps of Genghis Khan, just completed, is written, directed and produced by Chris D. Nebe and JJ Osbun. The feature documentary is the latest in the series of films entitled Mysterious China from Monarex Hollywood Corporation. Shot entirely on location in Mongolia, the film recounts the rich epic history of the Mongol Empire.

Scott Beck & Bryan Woods Start Shooting
Haunt In Kentucky Katie Stevens Joins Cast

Production is underway in Kentucky on Haunt, a horror-thriller written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. Up-and-comers Katie Stevens (pictured above*) and Will Brittain star in the movie along with Lauryn Alisa McClain, Andrew Caldwell, and Shazi Raja.
Sierra/Affinity is financing and producing the project for worldwide distribution. Todd Garner is producing via the Broken Road banner, along with Mark Fasano, Ankur Rungta and Vishal Rungta via the Nickel City banner, and scare-master Eli Roth. Sierra/Affinity’s Nick Meyer, Marc Schaberg and Josie Liang, Broken Road’s Jeremy Stein and Sean Robins, and Nickel City’s Tobias Weymar serve as executive producers. Beck and Woods also wrote Paramount’s A Quiet Place starring John Krasinski and Emily Blunt which will be released next year. Haunt adds to Sierra/Affinity’s library of financed and produced films including this past summer’s Cold War action spy/thriller Atomic Blonde starring Charlize Theron and James McAvoy release by Universal Pictures in July 2017. *courtesy IMDb.

Barefoot, starring Tereza Voříšková (above), from award winning Czech director Jan Svěrák, co-written by Svěrák’s respected father, Zdeněk Svěrák, and produced by Jan Svěrák is one of the films selected for DIFF in December. Barefoot follows eight-year-old Eda, the long-desired and over-protected child of parents, who had previously lost a child. Eda is a memory for his parents and even has the same name as his deceased sibling. In 1939, the family leaves Prague and moves in with relatives in the countryside. The war presents mysterious adventures to Eda, and although his life is strange, Eda is faced with beautiful opportunities and he discovers deep family secrets as well his own personal inner strength. Barefoot is produced by Biograf Jan Svěrák, Česká televize, Phoenix Film and Novinski. International rights available through Portobello Film Sales.
